Songbird Korean Bar-B-Q

Well, tonight was my first Korean BBQ experience! I am very excited about this because I have wanted to try Korean BBQ for a long time. My friend Enette and I went to Songbird Korean Bar-B-Q near Tysons for dinner tonight. I thought it was delicious.

For those of you who have never had this kind of cuisine, let me walk you through this. You sit down at tables with mini grills in them and order. We ordered bulgogi, which is beef marinated in soy sauce. The meat comes out with what feels like one million mini side dishes. The meat is raw; the side dishes are not. You place the meat on the grill and let it cook in front of you. Then, you wrap the meat, some rice, and some spicy sauce in a lettuce leaf. Delicious!

Enette is a great eating companion because she tends to eat what I do not. I loved the lettuce-rolled beef, while she munched on the side dishes. There was more than enough food for the two of us, and this was all for about $22 total. Not bad for a Friday night meal!
