Kudu Coffee-S.C.

Our first morning in Charleston, Dolly took Xan and I to Kudu Coffee for breakfast.

Kudu is named after the African antelope and provides a varied menu of African coffees. The atmosphere is peaceful and, not surprisingly, has an African-inspired design.

I am always looking to find the perfect cup of coffee. Not many coffees can balance on the fine line between too strong and too weak. If the coffee is too strong, it is hard to enjoy becasue the coffee is too overpowering. (I also get a stomach ache!) If the coffee is weak, well then, what is the point?

As Goldilocks would say, Kudu coffee is “just right!” This, however, was unfortunate for me because I chose a simple cappuccino instead of one of their specialty drinks in fear that it would be too rich. My friends, however, were smarter than I. One ordered the Meru Mocha (espresso, steamed milk, chocolate, and frosted mint) and the other ordered the Frosted Cricket (espresso, steamed milk, frosted mint, and Irish cream). Both were delicious and tasted rather similar.
